Ghost Waste is an interactive installation to attract and to make people familiarize with the problems of ecomafia in an easy way. The observer can thus ‘physically touch’ the problem, activating different animations that are projected on a map; through the use of the Arduino board and some of its sensors.
The installation was to be interactive to attract and to make people familiarize with the problems of ecomafia in an easy way.
The observer can thus ‘physically touch’ the problem, activating different animations that are projected on a map; through the use of the Arduino board and some of its sensors.
The board features two different kinds of sensors: those of proximity and a potentiometer; which are responsible for activating the animations through interaction by the viewer.
Ghost Waste shows five different animations: illegal waste shipments, the main people involved, their earnings, the major illegal landfills and the tons of waste.
